Can Spirit Essences help with FHS?

Dear Spirit Essences,

I have an indoor/outdoor tabby cat that may have a mild case of Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome. He also sprays in the house. What formulas should I take a look at? Also, I am concerned that there may be side effects that would compromise him outdoors (like drowsiness, slower response time, etc.) Is there side effects?

Hello Ann,

Thanks for writing. Since Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome causes increased sensitivity to the skin, you may want to take a look at Skin Soother to address it. Skin Soother is formulated to rejuvenate the energy system, besieged by the anxiety, itching, twitching, fur pulling and other symptoms brought on by various skin conditions. Skin Soother helps to break the cycle of anxiety and balance the energy system, allowing the healing to begin from the inside out.

Take a look at Safe Space for Cats which can help with territorial insecurity. It can help the cat establish appropriate boundaries and reduce territorial stress that may manifest as spraying, inappropriate elimination, aggression, or other stress-related behaviors.

Spirit Essences are non-toxic and natural. They are not drugs. They do not have a physical effect on the body, but rather change the animal by encouraging positive emotions and responses. There are no “side effects.”

Best wishes!

Our formulas work best when used consistently - meaning tapping the bottom of the bottle on the palm of your hand immediately before administering, 3-4 times a day, and 3-5 drops each time.

Please remember that Jackson Galaxy's Spirit Essences work best when part of a more holistic treatment program, which may include proper veterinary care, diet, behavior modification, and other holistic modalities.
