Changing Times and Stress Stopper Make For An Easier Move
We just bought our first home and we were really worried about how our highly anxious dog would adjust. Our dog was a rescue from the streets and she has a hard time with new situations and new people. I've been using Changing Times and Stress Stopper for four weeks now and she seems to be generally happier and calmer. We've been in the new house for two weeks and she's adjusting well and we haven't had to crate her when we leave her alone. We are very grateful.
We were able to bring our dog to the new home for several visits before moving in so that she could become familiar with the surroundings. We also brought some of her toys and treats for positive associations. When we moved we didn't wash her blankets or the comforter from our bed so that there would be familiar smells in the new home.
The first few nights we did give our dog those chewable stress reductions pills that you can buy in any pet store. This was just to help her sleep at night because we did notice that she was very restless the first night.
We feel it is possible that our cat played an important role in our dog's success. Our cat is very confident and adjusted very well to the new home. I believe that our dog could sense the cat's confidence and it made her feel safer.
