Ultimate Peacemaker Helps A 7 Cat Household
We are a 7 cat household. 3 boys and 4 girls, ranging in age from 3 to 19 years. The boys have never been a problem. Wolfie is in charge and no one challenges that. Its the girls who don't tolerate each other very well. Before the treatments, Lucy would fight with any girl she would see.
Our home is 2 story. We also have cat doors allowing them to be where they prefer- indoors or out. We have a tall fence that keeps them in our yard for safety. Lucy has chosen to be upstairs, the boys visit occasionally. For the most part, the rest of the gang stays downstairs by choice. Lucy would attack any girl she would see in the yard and chase them down the stairs. This caused tension between the 3 other girls. This has seemed to calm down a bit and the 3 "victims" are getting along better
I attribute the tension between the 3 girls to Lucy's attitude. They seemed to feel they were constantly the "prey" and were nervous at times and would take it out on each other. Now, with Lucy's calmer attitude they seem to be more at ease around each other. The hissing at each other is less and just their body language just seems better. It's early in the treatment, but if things keep improving like they are I think we will have happier cats overall. Our objective is tolerance of one another.
